It could seem difficult but if you keep in mind e few simple rules it becomes very easy.
1. You need a Tunisian Crochet Hook also called Afghan Hook which is a long crochet with a stopper at the end, just the knitting needles,so your stitches won't fall off the hook.
2. Keep in mind that all stitches you will make you must keep them on the hook.
3. While working you should go forth and back on your work and never turn.
4. The Forward pass is when you will work from right to left ( is you are right handed) and the Return pass while you'll be working from left to right.
5. Each stitch needs 2 rows to be completed (1 forward pass and 1 return pass)
How to make a foundation chain with the Tunisian Crochet Technique.
Forward Pass
Step 1.
Make a foundation chain ( is a forward pass)
Step 2
Yarn over and insert the hook into the second chain from the hook
and pull up a loop.
Step 3.
You now have 2 loops on the hook
Keeping all the loops on the hook repeat Step 2 in all remaining chains across
Return Pass
DO NOT turn the work. You must work now from left to right
Step 1
Yarn Over and work the 1st stitch by pulling through the first stitch.
Step 2.
Yarn over and pull the yarn through 2 loops
For the rest of Turning pass you will continue to yarn over and pass through 2 loops at a time as in step 2 until no loop is left on the hook.
You should have thisµ.
